In my long association with North American Odia community since coming to Canada in 1987, I have always endeavored to bring fresh ideas and execute my tasks to the best of my abilities with utmost sincerity. As an editor of OSA and CANOSA journals in 1988, I worked with a team to design and print OSA Souvenir for the first time using Odia computer fonts. As the Vice President of CANOSA (1999-2001,) I carried out a fundraising campaign for the victims of Super Cyclone – approximately $100,000 was raised. I have assumed various cultural leadership roles in OSA and CANOSA events: directing dramas and opening songs, participating and supporting OSA regional drama festivals in Michigan, Toronto and Ohio, and serving as the cultural coordinator for the 2008 OSA convention. I edited the first journal of CANOSA in 2005.
More recently, during my tenure as the President of CANOSA (2010-2012,) we achieved many successes through team building and individual excellence. We continuously promoted Odia culture, local talent and professional artists.
I seek your support to strive for stronger bond among Odias through active pursuit of socio-cultural activities and my team’s new initiatives in a collaborative atmosphere.
